There is way to much hype about the number one pick and the lottery. Just look at the name "Lottery" and all that implies. Players do not control the order in which they are picked. If Kandi had not been a lottery pick the perception of him as a player would probably not be as bad. Not fair to put the tag great on Oden either and then measure him later against it. IT sucks he got hurt (sucks Elton Brand got hurt too, 2 of the elite bigs in the NBA hurt already), but he should be among the best centers in the league up there with D Howard and Amare and them for a long time.
