Reggie Evans Isn’t Getting Traded…Yet
By JL on Aug 16, 2007 in Denver Nuggets, Featured, Orlando Magic
When I read the rumors about Reggie Evans being traded to the Magic, my heart jumped a little. JJ Redick? The shooter the Nuggets desperately need? Or maybe Hedo Turkoglu, a good defender with 3pt range that could cause matchup problems.
Imagine my disappointment when I learned the names being floated are Keyon Dooling and Pat Garrity. Two players whose biggest asset is their expiring contracts. Dooling is a player — good energy, good defense — but not the point guard or shooter the Nuggets need. Garrity? I’ve never seen him play, but he’s not exactly setting the world on fire.
Please understand — Evans isn’t exactly a top-notch talent. He’s got bad hands and a bad reputation. Evidently, he’s still living down the Chris Kaman testicle grabbing incident.
But I would like to think that the Nuggets could get a little more back for him, considering how hard it is to find a decent big. Look for Evans or Najera to get traded sometime between now and the all-star break, probably to a team that needs to replace an injured big.

Wow — who’s the first? Wait — don’t answer that. Let me pretend it’s me…
